The purpose of this project was to serve as a platform for youth workers to learn, a place for NGOs to collaborate, and a spark that revitalizes communities at large.

The project's aim was to address the main challenges facing youth work in the fields of immigration, multiculturalism, and diversity.

Creation of a Safe Space for Youth

Fostering Intercultural dialogue and Overcoming Language Barriers.

Project Objective.

  • By using Improv Theatre and Drama Methodology to introduce participatory storytelling approaches (verbal/nonverbal) for workwith migrant communities.

  • By providing time and space for the development of collaborations and initiatives, to the participants from 7 different countries, exchange of experience and best practices of Youth Work.

  • Contribute to Youth Work by co-creating a toolbox of workshops and exercises relevant to the various realities of partners and beyond.

  • By broadening youth workers' knowledge of theory and practice of work on topics such as Diversity, Sensitivity, and Intercultural Communication (in the form of verbal and nonverbal NFE approaches).

Participants Profile.

Profile:

The “ACTING ACROSS BOARDERS” is aimed at educators that:

  • were working with migrants and/or in an intercultural context and/or on the topic of migration.

  • had led or had a strong desire to start working as educators/facilitators with theatre methods.

  • were residents of partner countries in this project

  • had good conversational use and listening comprehension of English (B1 minimum, B2 preferred).

  • are at least 18 years old.

Commitments & contributions.

  • Educators who were interested in passing on the knowledge gained during this training course to their communities and peer colleagues.

  • They were prepared to actively participate in and contribute to the program.

  • They had an interest in contributing to the casebook, which is going to be recorded as part of the training.

2-4 persons in one room.

MEALS:

There was breakfast, lunch, and dinner provided during your stay.

All costs related to the programme, food, and accommodation were covered for participants by the organizers.
