Participatory Performing Arts.

This project aims to empower youth workers and youth leaders from marginalized groups to enhance skills in non-formal methods, theater pedagogy, and participatory arts. By focusing on marginalized groups' identity narratives, it aspire to foster effective co-creation with diverse communities, integrate arts techniques within partner organizations, and design a specialized pedagogical toolkit. Ultimately, the goal is bridge theater pedagogy and non-formal educational NGOs, in the space of youth work.

Project Activities.

We'll conduct modular training sessions on non-formal methods, theater pedagogy, and participatory arts over two Training Course’s and one Youth Exchange, and one Co-Creation mobility. In the following six pilot programs will be launched in partner countries, with youth and migrants co-creating theater performances. Collaborative workshops will tailor the integration of performance arts in partner frameworks. A pedagogical toolkit will be curated, tested, and disseminated, followed by interactive webinars for feedback.

Impact of the project.

The project is expected to empower 30 youth workers and diverse youth leaders, enhancing their skills in theater and non-formal pedagogy. Six local performances, co-created with marginalized groups, will showcase their narratives. All partner organizations will integrate participatory arts in their working realia. And finally a refined pedagogical toolkit will be available to Youth Workers and involved organizations.

5 Interviews.

Local Actors, NGOs (theatre and migrant organizations), Facilitators, and Youth Workers.

We will be conducting five interviews with local actors, NGOs (theatre and migrant organizations), facilitators, and youth workers within the realms of Participatory Performing Arts, Youth Work, Migration, Rural, and Queer Action. These interviews aim to explore the experiences, challenges, and impacts of individuals and organizations working in these dynamic and interconnected fields, as well as to learn about the different methodologies they employ. The goals of the interviews include building local alliances, understanding (participatory) theatre methods from each partner, identifying participatory elements, assessing the needs of target groups and organizations, and determining the specific communities served, such as migrants or queer individuals. The insights gained will support the training team in developing effective training programs. Additionally, we will explore how to involve non-theater organizations by asking about the participatory elements in their work. Through these efforts, we aim to highlight the transformative power of the arts and advocacy in fostering community, inclusivity, and social change.

Online Forum.

Local Actors, NGOs (theatre and migrant organizations), Facilitators, and Youth Workers from Spain, Germany, Slovenia, Lithuania, and Ireland.

Theatreimpluse, the project coordinators from Germany, will conduct an online forum where KAMM Artistic Europe a long a long with other partners of the project will be responsible for inviting local actors, NGOs, facilitators, and youth workers from Spain, Germany, Slovenia, Lithuania, and Ireland to engage in dialogue and share their practices. The forum will focus on the same aims as the interviews, fostering a collaborative and informative exchange of ideas. Through these efforts, we aim to highlight the transformative power of the arts and advocacy in fostering community, inclusivity, and social change.

Theatre Performance.

In Ceuta-Spain.

KAMM Artistic Europe and other partners of the project will be responsible for conducting local activities with youth and migrants, co-creating theater performances. Collaborative workshops will tailor the integration of performance arts into partner frameworks. KAMM Artistic Europe will specifically work with migrants, young people, and the community of Ceuta, Spain where the final performance and the International Youth Exchange will be held. They will be involved in the entire process of theatre creation and performance. This community will also participate in the Youth Exchange scheduled for the following year (2026). They will be working with experienced theatre and youth facilitators who have expertise in migration topics, ensuring a rich and impactful engagement. Through these efforts, we aim to highlight the transformative power of the arts and advocacy in fostering community, inclusivity, and social change.
